Pg 1 & 4, Horizon: America’s battle is not with Islam; and Religious liberty for all – or none. - For a group of people who cannot find a good word to say for Christianity when atheists and the ACLU attack every symbol of Christianity, including hammering the Boy Scouts because God is in their oath, they certainly have decided that their Virtual-Muslim President and his Muslim associates deserve total and complete dogmatic support. They sure killed a lot of good trees for this one! - Their views have been that the nasty and vile anti-Christ cartoons at VT were a wonderful expression of a first amendment exercise and Christ in a bottle of urine on display at the Washington JFK Art Center brought artistic creativity to a whole new and wonderful level.

These comments were made at an annual dinner in the White House State Dining Room celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. - Roanoke Times, 8-15-10, Pg 1: Obama reaffirms freedoms of Muslims – did not say whether he thought building a mosque near Ground Zero was a good idea. - On Saturday Obama the Virtual-Muslim is totally and completely in support of the 911 Mosque --- On Sunday – Not so Much! - Once again the Roanoke Times Editors fulfilled their obligation to King-Obama to misrepresent the Obama position on the Ground Zero Mosque.

- Obama, the Democrats and their liberal media associates hammered Bush for years about the limited international military commitments to Iraq and Afghanistan. In May 2006 Bush secured the NATO commitment to take over responsibility for Afghanistan thereby allowing us to reduce the US force by 19,000 and become a secondary participant. http://roanokeslant.blogspot.com/2006/05/nato-responsible-for-afghanistan.html - Enter Obama the Muller-In-Chief Jan 2009! For the first nine months of 2009 he proclaimed to our troops and the world that “we don’t have a strategy in Afghanistan” and he is trying to find one. Why didn’t he make good on his claim to be the pied-piper of international cooperation and get NATO to fulfill their Afghanistan responsibilities while we completed our responsibilities in Iraq?

- In reading all the flowery and idyllic prose about Chelsea’s wedding, I somehow missed what would have been highlighted for Jenna’s low key semi-private one hundred thousand dollar wedding, IF her wedding contained the same circumstance with a similar set of character issues! What a roasting and tar and feather party the liberal media would have conducted! It would have been Sara and family raised to a new level! - The impeached and discredited father of the bride said he was going to have difficulty not crying. Can you imaging what the Editors of the Roanoke Times would have done with this morsel? - The father of the groom, a disgraced and criminally convicted Democrat Congressman, had just completed five years of federal incarceration for official misconduct. Not clear if he wore stripes but I’m sure the Roanoke Times’ favorite cartoonist would have had a field day with this one if the father-in-law were a Republican! - The Two Million Plus dollar wedding, much of which was at taxpayer security expense, was an obscene Democrat spectacle given the current recession, 10+% unemployment rate and highlighted by one thousand home foreclosures per week.

- The Liberal-Progressive Media has demonstrated impressive investigative capabilities over the years. Within a week of Sara Palin being named a VP candidate there were over 100 investigative reporters in her home town of about 300 residents. The resulting volumes of published anecdotal stories and rumors and speculation were awesome. - However – these same news people appear to be unable to duplicate that feat for their favorite son, Obama, who has been in office for over a year and a half now and this same press: Still cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors; or Find Obama’s real Birth Certificate; or Locate any of Obama’s college papers or grades; or Figure out how he paid for a Harvard education; or Find which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980's; or Decipher Barry Soretoros / Barack Obama’s myriad of Social Security numbers; or Even produce Michelle Obama’s Princeton thesis on Racism. - They just can't seem to find them.

- Roanoke Times, 7-31-10, Pg 9: The attorney general’s (Cuccinelli) latest hire is best known for prosecuting a man for being naked in his home. - What a great piece of headline slant and interesting editorial perspective. - Apparently the girls are disappointed that a prosecutor would pursue a complaint filed by a mother who on several occasions, while walking her child to school, was upset by a man who exposed himself to her and her child through a public-street-view window. - Apparently the “View” of the RT Editorial Girls is that having a man display his wares to women and children visible from the street is socially acceptable behavior and perhaps they would be comfortable if guys in their neighborhood shared their wares with them. After all, as newspaper girls well know, it pays to advertise! - At any rate it’s clear from their headline and article that they object to a prosecutor following up on such a complaint and feel it should have been dropped as a “prevailing local social custom”

- Roanoke Times, 7-4-10, Pg Horiz 1: Not blinded by science, but ideology. - The author, Chris Mooney, unsuccessfully tries to make the point that the public is not responding to the scientific community on “selected subjects” because they are either ignorant or ideologs who have an economic or political agenda. The author further opines that the most egregious nonbelievers are college educated conservatives. His primary example of his political thesis is those really bad global warming Skeptic people. - The author clearly doesn’t comprehend that real educated people are Critical Thinkers who are by definition Skeptics! On the other hand, those other educated people who just regurgitate the pabulum offered by many liberal college professors are programmed to repeat back and accept the material served up by the “all knowing” media and so called “experts by consensus.” - Perhaps the 30,000+ signers of the Petition Project: http://www.petitionproject.org/ who represent all sectors of science and engineering aren’t ideologs but are instead educated Skeptics who understand earth science, the long-term variability of earths climate and who differentiate between global warming, the effects of greenhouse gases and human activities

Janet Napolitano says fighting homegrown terrorism by monitoring Internet communications is a civil liberties trade-off that the government must make to beef up national security. - This major item buried back in small print on Pg 14 on a weekend! This monitoring is not just inter-country of suspected bad guys, it is intra-country! During the Bush years the Roanoke Times and their associates in the liberal press put every Patriot Act activity on the front page in BIG letters bashing Bush for violating The Constitution and our Civil Rights and the ACLU was in court demanding this all be stopped. And Senate Democrats were filing bills of censure against the President.

The Federal Reserve adopted new rules aimed at protecting credit card customers from getting socked by lofty late payment charges (more than $25) and other penalty fees. - What an incredible and gross hypocritical pile of heifer-dust! - Want to see late charges, interest and penalties? Just be late filing and paying your income taxes! And we’re not talking about $25 ! - And one of the biggest Government financial-atrocities of all: The penalties for senior citizens who fail to take the Required Minimum Distribution from their 401’s or IRA’s.

Roanoke Times, 6-8-10, Pg 14: Helen Thomas was caught on video saying Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” - She also said they all should be sent back to Poland and Germany, a not so veiled reference to Auschwitz and Dachau. - Helen Thomas has been the darling of the liberals, left-wingers and Democrats for half a century. They reveled and cheered her nasty behavior during both of the Bush Presidencies. - Her friends in the liberal media kept her right up in the front row of the Presidential Press Briefings, she served their purposes well, even though she no longer qualified under their own rules for that position. - Obama and Clinton enjoyed her support for them thereby encouraging and enabling her gross and biased journalist misbehavior.

The investment community was so impressed that the Dow dropped 323 points on the news. Professor Obama told folks at a truck plant in Maryland that “This report is a sign that our economy is getting stronger by the day” and “the recovery is moving in the right direction”. Hello Commission Members! We all know that renewable energy is more costly than Virginia’s primary source of coal power. However don’t we have a goal for all investor owned utilities to increase the percentage of renewable energy every year achieving 15% by 2025.

ObamaCare costs are not a bite, they are a tsunami of rules, regulations and costs to individuals, taxpayers, employers and all levels of government! - The Virginia current Medicaid costs are equal to public school funding. The impacts of DOUBLING the recipients will more than double the demands on the taxpayers as costs escalate under ObamaCare. Of course the liberal and Democrat answer is simple – just raise more taxes! Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Perriello are all for that! Then they all wonder why businesses are not expanding and hiring more people.

Obama sending 1200 National Guard troops to Mexican border. That’s 400 troops per shift (3 shifts per day). There’s 700 miles of US-Mexican border That’s two (count them if you can) 2 troopers per mile Wow! Be scared illegal immigrants and smugglers! Obama’s going to get you! - What a pathetic response to a major, serious and chronic problem. And now Obama is challenging Arizona’s new law that mirrors US laws that Obama is not enforcing. Didn’t he take an oath to uphold the laws?

Where are the Roanoke Times Editors, ACLU, and all the other liberal hounds that bayed for years about Bush’s detention of enemy combatants? - Now Obama has obtained court permission to hold these and additional detainees at US base Bagram in Afghanistan indefinitely with no access to lawyers or any form of legal standing or review (something about enemy combatant legal history). And from the left and liberals we now have “the sound of silence”! Apparently indefinite detention is OK if Obama is doing it! http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/22/world/asia/22detain.html - Where are the trials and resolution of the awful Bush GITMO detainees? Wasn’t that a top number one priority a year and a half ago? Isn't it ironic that Obama wanted to bring terrorists to Manhattan and the terrorists accommodated him by driving a bomb into Times Square

Elena Kagan is another Obama and Perriello like candidate for high office with no experience or history of accomplishment in the job they are seeking. In Texas they call it: All Hat, No Cows! - No time on any court at any level! What a distinguished resume! - Elena Kagen’s major legal accomplishment was, as a key player at Harvard, to continue to block ROTC and military recruiting in spite of a unanimous Supreme Court decision. Yes, that’s the same Supreme Court she now aspires to join! - It’s interesting that as a manager one hires and or promotes someone based on a history of accomplishments achieved over a significant sustained time period.
